The first thirty or forty minutes of almost every class will be used for extensive listening. This will involve listening to songs, watching movies, and watching television programs. Students will sometimes be asked to vote on the sort of materials that they want to use for extensive listening.

Three class sessions will focus primarily on how to produce a spoken summary. Six class sessions will focus primarily on how to construct a spoken opinion and how to discuss a topic in English. Four class sessions will focus primarily on preparing and giving a group presentation.

In addition to the group presentations, students will present a spoken summary and two prepared spoken opinions (mini-presentations) in class.
