Academic Written English II is a course that is designed to help students develop mastery of written academic English. The main goals will be for students to gain the ability to learn how to write procedures in English and learn how to write a two-sided argument. Class activities and materials will be oriented around pair and small group work. |

Students are expected to spend about one hour each week preparing for the upcoming class, as well as reviewing materials from the previous lesson. |

Participation in class: 40% Written assignment: 30% Presentation on a two-sided argument: 30% Note: Students are required to attend at least 11 of the 15 lessons. Students who miss 4 or more classes, without valid certified reasons, will be required to speak directly to a university counselor. Failure to do so will result in automatic course failure. Attending 11 lessons does not guarantee a passing grade, please be aware of the other assessment criteria. |
