Welcome to this class! Like ASE and AWE I & II, the goal in this course is to develop your speaking and writing skills over a range of topics through further development of summary writing, outlining, oral presentation, and short academic composition writing preparation centered on reactions to topics, and to continue supporting your ideas and opinions with critical thinking within your preparation towards reactions in your presentations and compositions.

/Course outline and weekly schedule(up to 2,000 letters)
Week 1: Class information & guidance

Weeks 2-6: Pre-teaching survey (Week 2); reading/discussing/developing spoken/written reactions with issues in science & technology (Weeks 3 through 5) with short presentation/developed written reaction of a one-sided argument (Week 6)

Weeks 7-11: Reading/discussing/developing spoken/written reactions with science & technological issues (Weeks 7 through 10) with short presentation/developed written reaction of a two-sided argument (Week 11)

Weeks 12-14: Final presentation & writing project discussion/development

Week 15: Final presentations/written topic submissions/optional post-teaching survey

Week 16 (if necessary): Make-up presentations/written topics

Spoken reaction presentations & short written reaction compositions 1 and 2: 25% each (Topic summaries 5% each; spoken reaction presentations 10% each; written reaction compositions 10% each)
Final spoken presentation & short written composition reaction: 30% (Presentation outline 5%; topic summary 5%; spoken reaction presentation 10%; written reaction composition 10%)
Presentation/composition 1 & 2 superior effort & performance bonus points: 5% total
