This course will focus on how to write a technical research report in fields related to engineering and applied science. Students will learn about how such reports are organized, the language used in technical research reports, and the mechanics (e.g., citations, formatting) of technical research reports. Individually or in small groups, students will conduct a research project which they have designed themselves. Finally, students will use what they have learned about organization, language use, and mechanics to write a technical research report related to their research project. Students' research reports will be collected by the instructor and distributed to the students. |
