前半では、現代社会に広がる倫理的問題を取り上げ、「自分の考えを整理し、議論する力」を養うことを目標とする。後半では、そもそも、「自分の考えを整理し、議論する」とはどのようなことか、フランス現代思想の議論を手がかりとしながら、あらためて考えてみる。 This course offers a critical study of the ethical theories and problems of modern society. Course Objectives: Acquire knowledge of various theories of ethics and discuss the moral dilemmas. |

The class will be structured with a traditional lecture on a given topic by the instructor for the first part of class. During the second half of class, students will participate in class discussions and contribute relevant thoughts and ideas. 履修者の人数・関心に応じて、授業内容・形態を変更することがある。 Course content may be changed depending on the participants’ interest. |

予習のポイント：Preparation 適宜、次回の授業で使用するプリントを配付するので、目を通しておく。 The students are expected to read the handout for the next class. 復習のポイント：Review 授業で提示された議論について、自分なりの立場を説明できるようにし、レポートに備える。 The students are expected to develop their position on the issues and prepare for the final paper. |
