(a) Subject: By surveying reference papers, studying books and checking their academic papers, master students in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Intelligent System are required to improve their abilities of reading, writing, hearing, and making presentations using technical and scientific English. (b)Objective: With the help of internet tools, basic skills of technical and scientific English will be given first; dozens of technical short essays from Mechanical and Electrical Engineering text books will be given so that they can read and translate them. After that, the abstract of the undergraduate research project written by students themselves will be translated to English. Students will also be exposed via TED; they can have an opportunity to brush up on their dictation and presentation skills. |
