/Topic and goals
This class will explore various types of scientific writing to develop students' abilities to understand the role of the articles and logically evaluate their validity and importance. Students will gain an understanding of how various publications and different target audiences determine the style, vocabulary and content of the articles.

All assigned readings and other preparation must be done outside of class.
Students are expected to spend about one hour each week preparing for the upcoming class, as well as reviewing materials from the previous lesson.
