現代社会では，様々な情報システムが続々と開発され，私たちの日常生活は情報システムの進展により大きな変化が生じている．特に情報システムのうちでも，GIS（地理情報システム）は研究面だけではなく，行政，企業が提供するサービス，市民による社会活動など，様々な場面で利用されるようになった．そしてGISでは，一方的に情報提供を行うだけではなく，デジタル地図を利用した双方向性の情報交流や多様な主体間の情報共有を行うことができる． これらの背景には，他の情報システムとは大きく異なり，デジタル地図上に多様な情報を掲示し，情報提供・共有化を行うことができるというGISの大きな特徴がある．またインターネットなどのICTと結びつくことにより，広く社会に情報提供を行い，意思決定支援を行うことができるようになった．さらにGIS以外にも多様な情報システムが社会で積極的に利用されることにより，より良い地域づくり，環境づくりを行うために市民参加を促進することができる可能性がある． このような状況を踏まえて，本講義では，多様な社会情報システムについて理解したうえで，現代の高度情報化時代における情報システムを利用した意思決定，今後の市民社会における情報システムを利用した公共選択について理解を深める．また本講義では，国内外における具体的な社会情報システムの利用事例をできるだけ多く取り上げ，実証的な説明を行う． In present society, various forms of information systems are being developed one after another and our everyday life is undergoing remarkable changes amid the advancement of information technologies. Among various forms of information systems, geographic information systems (GIS) have come into particularly widespread use in various scenes of our life, not only in research activities but also in various services provided by government agencies and businesses as well as in social activities by citizens. The advent of GIS technologies has not only enabled one-way provision of information but also realized two-way information exchange and information sharing among various entities by utilizing digital maps. In the background of this remarkable development is the distinctive feature of GIS that, unlike other forms of information systems, is capable of displaying various kinds of information on digital maps, thereby enabling the provision and sharing of such information. Also, by linking with other information technologies such as the Internet, GIS has begun to provide information to the public at large and support decision making. There is a good possibility that the active use of a greater variety of information systems, other than GIS, will further promote citizens’ participation in community and environment building. Based on such a backdrop, in this lecture, it is necessary to understand various social information systems, and decision making and public choice using information system in Japanese advanced communication network society. Additionally, concrete examples of social information systems will be introduced and demonstratively explained. |

講義への出席状況，2回のレポート課題の成果により，成績評価を行う． Academic achievement will be performed based on every student’s attendance to lecture and two-time reports. |
