/Themes and goals(up to 2,000 letters)
Building on what they have learned in Academic Spoken English I and II and Academic Written English I and II, students in this course will understand the components of a scientific research report following the IMRaD structure. This course focuses on how to write the Methods and Results sections of a written research paper and how to prepare and deliver a research-based oral and/or poster presentation.Students will also develop academic skills necessary for academic communication, including presentation and critical thinking skills. This will be accomplished by conducting one or more research projects, either individually or in a group, writing the methods and results,and giving at least one research presentation. Activities and teaching materials are chosen and designed by individual teachers.

There is a tutorial class on Tuesday, period 5, for students who have difficulty understanding the class content. Contact your teacher if you would like to attend the tutorial class. Students who attend the tutorial class are still required to attend their regular class.
