/Themes and goals(up to 2,000 letters)
The purpose of this course is to introduce students to more complex and academic concepts and skills of English language for academic purposes with the consideration for majors of science and engineering. This course supports students in terms of applying the scientific knowledge and language in English as well as academic skills obtained in the first two years of compulsory English courses to more realistic learning and research tasks. Such tasks include academic writing (accuracy and fluency), academic discussions, presentations, student-generated research topics and scientific investigation of such topics in a small group and/or individually. In other words, students will be trained to take initiative, plan their own academic research in English, and communicate their study and research in English with their peers and professors more freely.
