主題および 達成目標 /Topic and goals |
Students in this course will understand the components of genres of academic written English, i.e. two-sided argument and procedure, selected for students of science and engineering. It fosters the basic academic reading and writing skills as well as critical thinking and other academic skills, such as discussion, required for achieving the communicative goals of the genres. In-class activities and teaching materials are chosen and designed by individual teachers as shown in the course outline and weekly schedule below. |

All assigned readings and video viewings must be done outside of class. Students are expected to spend about one hour each week preparing for the upcoming class, as well as reviewing materials from the previous lesson. |
