This course offers opportunities to develop skills for researching, writing research papers, and presenting researches. Although speaking and writing are particularly focused in this course, students are expected to read and possibly listen to various kinds of texts to collect information their research paper. Students will be able to do the followings after this course; 1. Planning and conducting research to collect information 2. Reading and listening actively to collect information 3. Performing critical thinking 4. Organizing information and write research papers 5. Organizing information and present about their research |

Week 1: Formatting of research paper (Writing) Week 2: Choosing and narrowing topics for research paper (Writing) Formatting of presentation (Speaking) Week 3: Developing thesis and Introduction paragraph (Writing) Preparation for Mid-term Presentation: Planning (Speaking) Week 4: Introducing research methods, and developing Methodology paragraph (Writing) Preparation for Mid-term Presentation :Organizing information (Speaking) Week 5: Mid-term Presentation (Speaking) Week 6: Mid-term Presentation (Speaking) First submission of research paper: introduction and methodology (Writing) Week 7: Developing bodies of paper: analysis of result and discussion section (Writing) Week 8: Developing bodies of research paper: developing result section (Writing) Week 9: Developing bodies of research paper: developing discussion section (Writing) Preparation for Final Presentation: planning (Speaking) Week 10: Analysis of conclusion and reference (Writing) Preparation for Final Presentation: organizing information (Speaking) Week 11: Developing conclusion and reference section Practice for Final Presentation (Speaking) Week 12: Peer-reviewing (Writing) Practice for Final Presentation (Speaking) Week 13: Final presentation (Speaking) Week 14: Final presentation about their research papers (Speaking) Week 15:Final presentation about their research papers (Speaking) *deadline for submission of completed version of Research Paper (Writing) *Please note that the class schedule above is subject to change depending on the progress of each class. *There might be a class in the exam week for the final presentation. |
