The main objective of this class is to develop students' ability to use spoken academic English and for students to develop confidence and competency in their speaking abilities. |

Week 1: Introduction to the class Week 2: Speaking practice and viewing sample videos Week 3: Speaking activities (in groups): possible topics for the final project Week 4: Speaking activities: introduce topics in small groups Week 5: Discussion: planning the group video project; writing scripts Week 6: Peer review scripts; Discussion Week 7: Discussion and feedback Week 8: Comments/ feedback & discussion Week 9: Practice recording videos Week 10: Record videos without scripts Week 11: Watch unedited videos; discussion Week 12: Edit videos Week 13: View videos; comments and feedback; quiz Week 14: View videos; comments and feedback; quiz Week 15: Speaking activity: video comments/feedback |
