日本の社会や日本文化に対する理解の一環として、日本人が常識的に持ち合わせている日本の地理に関する知識を学ぶ。自国の地理的特徴と日本の地理的特徴を比較して捉えられるようになる。 For better understanding on the Japanese society and culture, students are expected to learn about the geography of Japan that Japanese people have in common. Then students will be able to make comparison in geographical features between Japan and their countries. |

授業では知識の確認、情報の提供、ディスカッションを行う。また、各地方ごとに簡単なクイズを行い、地理的知識の定着を促進する。 第１週 オリエンテーション、日本の地理概観 第２週 九州・沖縄地方① 第３週 九州・沖縄地方② 第４週 四国・中国地方① 第５周 四国・中国地方② 第６週 近畿地方① 第７週 近畿地方② 第８週 中部地方① 第９週 中部地方② 第10週 関東地方① 第11週 関東地方② 第12週 東北地方① 第13週 東北地方② 第14週 北海道 第15周 試験、および試験の解説 In the class the knowledge gained are checked, the information necessary in the subjects concerned provided, and discussion is used to deepen understanding. In addition, simple quizzes on different regions of Japan are given to improve retention of the knowledge about geographical features. 配布プリントの予習・復習を行う。発表の準備を行い、その内容をレポートにまとめる。 Preparation for and review on learning in the class by using the distributed handouts are to be made for presentation of the reports. |

参加度10％、クイズ30％、試験20％、発表20％、レポート20％％ ただし、欠席が全クラスの3分の1以上の場合は「不可」となる。 Participation: 10%, Quizzes:30%, Examination: 20%, Presentation:20% and Report: 20% (provided that the students receive a “not acceptable” grade, if the number of absences is more than one-third of the total class. |
