A-course(国際会議発表を目標) (a)Subject: By surveying the reference papers, studying the text books and checking their academic papers,students of the graduate school in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Intelligent System are required to improve their abilities of reading, writing and presenting with technical, scientific English. (b)Objective: With the help of internet tools, the basic skills of technical, scientific English will be given first, and then dozens of technical short essays from Mechanical and Electrical Engineering text books will be given through the WebClass e-learning system so that they can read and translate them on-line, submitting the answers to the questions such English -> Japanese and Japanese -> English exercises. After that, the abstract of the undergraduate research project written by the students themselves will be translated to English. Students will also be exposed to typical scientific and documentary short films such as BBC Science and National Geographic Channel; they can have an opportunity to brush up on their dictation and presentation skills. ------------------ B-course(修士2年間での国際会議発表を目標 卒論のAbstractやPPTを英語化) (a) Subject: Through model readings, model presentations, writing tasks, and original presentations, students in the MS program of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Intelligent Systems will improve their abilities to read,write, understand, and present in technical and scientific English. (b)Objective: With the help of internet tools, students will acquire: basic skills of technical and scientific English; reading skills through the use of technical readings from Mechanical and Electrical Engineering textbooks and research journals; and listening and presentation skills through watching model presentations. Students will demonstrate their acquired skills through English abstract writing and research presentation. |

A-course (a) 評価方法：毎回の出席・演習・宿題の結果を、次のように総合評価する。 出席50%、演習・宿題50% (b) 評価基準：以下の到達レベルをもって合格の最低基準とする。 ・英語の5文型、修飾語、関係代名詞の働きを正しくの意味を理解していること。 ・機械工学、電気工学の基本的専門用語の正しくの意味を理解していること。 ・自分の研究分野の基本的な専門用語を学習し、習得していること。 ※すべてのレポートが受理されていること。 a) Evaluation method: Weekly exercises in class (50%) and homework (50%) b) Evaluation criteria: Completion of a talk suitable for an international conference, reading ability for articles in ones own specialization --------------------- B-course (a) 評価方法：毎回の演習課題の結果を以下のように総合評価する． 演習100% 2/3以上の出席 (b) 評価基準：以下の到達レベルをもって合格の最低基準とする． ・国際学会での発表質疑応答が最低限できる． ・自分の専門分野の英論文を読むことができる． a) Evaluation method: Weekly exercises in class (100%) and attend at least 2/3. b) Evaluation criteria: Completion of a talk suitable for an international conference, reading ability for articles in ones own specialization |
