日本社会や日本文化に対する理解の一環として、日本人が常識的に持ち合わせている日本の歴史に関する知識を学ぶ。自国の歴史的変遷と日本の歴史的変遷が並行して捉えられるようになる。 For better understanding on Japanese society and culture, students are expected to learn about history of Japan as generally recognized by Japanese people in view of historical transition of Japan parallel to the countries of the students. |

授業では、知識の確認、情報の提供、ディスカッションを行う。また、時代区分に応じて、簡単なクイズを行い、歴史的知識の定着を促進する。 授業内容 第１週：オリエンテーション、日本史の時代区分 第２週：古代 第３週：大和時代 第４週：奈良時代 第５週：平安時代 第６週：鎌倉時代 第７週：室町時代 第８週:中間試験と試験解説 第９週：戦国時代 第10週：安土桃山時代 第11週：江戸時代１ 第12週：江戸時代２ 第13週：明治時代 第14週：大正時代・昭和時代 第15周：期末試験と試験解説 In the class the knowledge gained are checked, the information necessary in the subjects concerned provided, and discussion is used to deepen understanding. In addition, simple quizzes are given. Week 1：Orientation、Periods of Japanese History Week 2：Antiquity Week 3：Yamato period Week 4：Nara period Week 5：Heian period Week 6：Kamakura period Week 7：Muromachi period Week 8：Mid-term examinations and explanation of the exam Week 9：Segoku period Week10：Azuchi-Momoyama period Week11：Edo period① Week12: Edo period② Week13: Meiji period Week14：Taisho and Showa Periods Week15：Final exam and explanation of the exam |

配布プリントの予習・復習を行う。課題を提出する。 Prepare for and review the class by using the distributed handouts. And submit assignments. |

参加度10％、試験30％、クイズと課題60％ （ただし、欠席が全クラスの３分の１以上の場合は「不可」となる。） Participation: 10%, Examination: 30%, Quizzes and Assignments: 60% Students who miss more than two thirds of the class will fail the course. |
