The purpose of this course is to help you gain a basic understanding of what culture is and how it affects how we think and communicate. Through the activities in the textbook, you will learn about the differences and similarities between cultures. This will not only help you communicate with people from different cultural backgrounds, but also deepen the understanding of your own cultural identity. An understanding of intercultural communication will help you gain a better experience when you study or work with people from different cultures in the future.

Through this course, students' awareness of cultural differences will be raised and the understanding of
their own culture will be deepened.
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to
- reflect on their own culture and see their own culture from a different perspective
- have basic knowledge of key concepts on intercultural communication
- become more aware of cultural differences
- increase academic vocabulary and improve speaking and discussion skills
